Along with schools, the Science and Arts
Foundation has provided support, in the form of modern computer
sites, Internet connectivity and ICT training, to a number of key
educational facilities and cultural institutions. These
locations are engaged in
innovative projects, designed to promote employment in ICT for
disadvantaged populations; promote use of ICT in education among
educators; and provide training and access to the Internet for the
general public. Teacher training centers also provide IT training and
access to educators in an attempt to promote excellence in
teaching and innovation in teaching curricula through the use of
the Internet. Other IT Sites provide training and ICT access for
disadvantaged groups not reached through SAF's other projects such
as residents at the Raad Rehabilitation Complex, residents in
Shahkooh Village and youth in state-run orphanages. Through this
project, SAF has also provided support to universities, libraries,
NGOs and other cultural institutions and centers of excellence.
